The importance of play & mindfulness
“Play is our brain’s favourite way of learning”

Children are a powerhouse of energy that require constant nurturing to be able to perform to the fullest. Many children grow up without realising their potential, and now more than ever, as parents it is important to support and encourage little ones to keep their spark alive, while being safe indoors.
Days might be looking bleak for parents who suddenly find themselves juggling between work, duties at home and the additional responsibility of assisting children with schooling, owing to the pandemic. But the most important point to be understood is that children require this support, and it is highly crucial that parents do not compromise when it comes to keeping young minds bustling with new thoughts and energy.
So, what are some simple ways to not allow these additional responsibilities to take a toll on you, as caretakers? Well, let’s start by thinking of engaging ideas that will let children continue to grow up without any hindrance during the pandemic.
Nature Nurtures
Allow children some quality time amidst greenery as this enriches young minds and adults alike. Let the little ones interact with nature and give in to outdoor activities that enable them to keep in touch with enough physical activity required.
Map out indoor games
Children love surprises so clubbing a healthy activity with the element of surprise will make the whole experience all the more interesting. Plan fun indoor games that will keep them safe yet entertained. This will give them room for new thoughts or information which will spike their mental growth rate, despite the pandemic.
Keep their interests alive
It is important to not let the little ones fall out of sync with their interests. Keep them engaged with online classes that might assist them with further growth in their respective interests. For instance, if your child is into dance or music enroll them to online classes.
Let traditions live!
Every family has traditions that keep the spirit of the household alive. Despite the pandemic, the efforts you put into keeping traditions like, family summer plans, get-togethers, games and activities will help keep their mind in a good state of mind.
A note to loving parents: Times are testing and it might be more than challenging to keep up with the constant needs required by a growing child. But let us remember to do the right thing and nurture children with an adequate amount of love and care. Remember, it’s what we do that counts when it comes to giving children a wholesome childhood.
