“Colour is a power which directly influences the soul”

Wassily Kandinsky

Why do we celebrate Holi? Holi is celebrated to symbolize the victory of triumph of good over evil. But the symbolism doesn’t stop with the thought. Holi is a festival that manifests our happiness and positivity through colours, the best part about the celebrations! And colours make the experience all the more memorable and special.

It is also a festival of togetherness, love and pure euphoria. The festival demands everyone to give their fullest and celebrate with fervour. While the little ones love the festival for the colours and the treats, it might be difficult to celebrate Holi traditionally, owing to the global pandemic. But there still are some fun ways to celebrate the festival with a creative twist!

Bring the colours on paper

Here’s a fun and safe way to incorporate colours into our celebrations! Apply the spirit of the festival on canvas and laminate the result, a reminder of the colourful celebration. After all, isn’t the festival about finding our own happiness?

A Floral Celebration

Allow your children the time and space to get creative with flowers and create something with the vibrant colours. It can be a family union with flower petals and colours and also a great opportunity for a memorable photoshoot! The little ones would look adorable running around with colourful flower petals, we think!

Rainbow Breakfast

Wake them up to a grand breakfast that features their favourite colours and incorporate Holi into the simple little things. Cook them a healthy meal and add a colourful twist to the festive celebration!

Holi Décor for the Little Ones

Let them contribute with crafts and décor ideas for Holi and pull the family together. Kids love feeling important especially around holidays and this would definitely help them cough up interesting designs.

Here are some of the tasks they can indulge in:

· The Holi Banner

· Handmade Holi Cards

· Festive gift tags

· Party snacks

· Handmade pichkaris

Curate handmade colouring books

Give them Holi-based drawings and let the little ones fill the canvas up with creative colours and designs. This way, the festive tone is set and the tradition of celebrating with colours is carried on safely, even during the pandemic.

Being one of the most revered festivals in India, Holi is more than just another day on the calendar. It brings people together and lights up people’s lives with hope as they smear colours and happiness with every handful of Holi powder. Despite these testing times, it is important for caregivers and parents to keep up the cheer with safe alternatives.

How are we making Holi fun at Fun City?

A colourful festive surprise, from us to you!
